God grant me the serenity to accept things that I can not change; the courage to change things that I can change; and the wisdom of distinguishing one from the other.

I was born in September 1959 in Virgo. I spent my childhood in Dortmund's Nordstadt. I went to school at the elementary school at Oesterholzstrasse and at the secondary school in Flurstrasse. There I also got the first contact to the then Luther parish. First through the Confirmation class and then later through the trombone choir. After my apprenticeship as an industrial insulator, I took over the trombone choir in Brünninghausen for two years. This is almost 30 years ago. Over time, a lot has happened to me personally. I got married, got a daughter. The job and the profession changed. I moved from the northern city to Eving. When my daughter came in the toddler age, I went with her to the first father-child group in Dortmund. There I came back to my home church, which was meanwhile called Friedensgemeinde, by the then leader Friedrich Laker. First, I worked at the Children's Beat Mass and Church Attack. After that, I was still active in the Talk to Heaven team. And how could it be otherwise: I let myself be elected to the presbytery. Since the summer of 2004 I have been working in the trombone choir of the evangelical parish Dortmund-Derne until the dissolution of the choir at the end of March 2017. Since then I have been actively supporting the brass community Bonifatius in the bass.

Incidentally, I am a member of the SpenDobel Parliament. A special commitment is the category Jazz in churches. Since 2008, I have devoted myself more to this category.

With over thirty years of experience in the trombone choir, I am familiar with all genres of electronic and underground music. My absolute favorite musicians are: Nina Hagen, Frank Sinatra, JSBach, Bob Brookmeyer, Barbara Dennerlein, Glenn Miller, Luis Armstrong, The Rat Pack, Puppini Sisters, Peter Maffay, Nena, Bob Marley and of course local greats like the Dortmunder Bachchor, the wolf, the mushroom pickers, Cosmo Klein etc.

Only with the sport, there's not much: Of course, BVB fan (St. Pauli also). I like Formula One and see mostly red (Now everyone can think what he wants). In winter there's winter sports. I myself am not exactly what one calls a sports cannon (sport is murder).
